Sarah McCartney is an artisan perfumer and writer; she founded 4160Tuesdays in 2011 after 20 years as a copywriter. She and her team hand make adventurous fragrances in their small West London studio. Their best-seller, The Sexiest Scent on the Planet. Ever. (I.M.H.O.), is sold in Los Angeles, New York, Seoul, Tasmania and Cardiff.

4160Tuesdays perfumes capture a place and time - real or imaginary. New for 2023 are Salt Rose - the scent of wild roses growing on the Thames estuary - and Butterlily Damselfly, which evokes an open water swim to smell yellow waterlilies in Compton Verney lake, while being buzzed by iridescent-winged damselflies.

Sarah also creates fragrances for other new brands, including Aura of Kazakhstan and Black Cliff of Barbados.

Sarah believes that everyone should have the chance to write a poem, paint a picture, sing a song and make a fragrance so she set up the Scenthusiasm Slow Scent School. She teaches artisan perfume-making at her studio and online, bringing this secretive skill to students worldwide.
